At 1125 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Forest to near Gretna to near Aiken Summit. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Runoff from heavy rain may wash debris onto the highway from roadside ditches. Locations impacted include... Danville... Altavista... Hurt... Chatham... Gretna... Brookneal... and Ingram. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
