...SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHERN
ANSON...MONTGOMERY... NORTHWESTERN RICHMOND AND STANLY COUNTIES
THROUGH 1030 PM EDT...

At 924 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong, slow-
moving thunderstorms producing heavy rain 10 miles south of Plyler,
or 11 miles southwest of Albemarle, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Heavy rain may produce localized
flooding especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Albemarle, Troy, Badin Lake, Biscoe, Ansonville, Plyler, Locust,
Norwood, Badin, and Oakboro.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Very heavy rain can be expected due to the slow movement of this
storm. Prolonged heavy rain will result in ponding of water on
roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of
creeks and streams. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra
caution to avoid hydroplaning.
