574 AXPQ20 PGUM 052349 TWDPQ Tropical Weather Discussion National Weather Service Tiyan GU 949 AM ChST Sat Jul 6 2024 Tropical Weather Discussion for the Western North Pacific between the Equator and 25N from 130E to 180. The following information is based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. ...SPECIAL FEATURES... None. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... NEAR EQUATORIAL TROUGH... A NET extends from EQ159E passes south of Chuuk to 5N139E to the south of Yap. A broad and weak circulation is embedded within the NET around 4N148E. Scattered showers are seen along and just north of the NET. These features will generally shift westward over the coming days. TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A couple of trade-wind troughs exist across the region. The first extends from near 10N162E to 1N167E. Scattered showers are seen to the west of this trough, impacting islands between Kosrae and Pohnpei. The next trough extends from just southwest of Guam at 13N142E to 4N144E where the trough meets the NET. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms have been seen to the southwest of Guam along the trough. These features will generally move westward over the coming days. TUTT... A TUTT extends from just east of 180 at 32N to 20N165E to 8N155E. Three TUTT cells are embedded within the TUTT at 26N179E, 20N165E, and 10N160E. Very few showers and storms are seen with this TUTT, which is expected to weaken over the next few days. The second TUTT is located from 22N145E to 10N120E. Two TUTT cells are embedded within the TUTT at 20N138E and 13N125E. Not much shower or thunderstorm activity is associated with the eastern TUTT cell, but scattered showers and thunderstorms are seen over the Philippines with the western TUTT cell. This feature will generally move westward and completely out of our AOR in the next day or two. $$ Williams
