The following information is based on recent satellite imagery/data, weather observations, radar, and meteorological analysis. ...SPECIAL FEATURES... None. ...OTHER WEATHER SYSTEMS... NEAR EQUATORIAL TROUGH... A NET extends from 8N130E passes south of Koror to 6N141E southeast of Yap. Spotty showers are seen to north and west of Koror and over Yap and along a line from 11N132E to 9N140E where winds are converging north of the trough. This feature will generally shift westward over the coming days and may possibly develop into weak low- level circulation. The trough extends past 9N140E through 4N146E to 6N149E, potentially ending at a weak circulation southwest of Chuuk. This circulation is expected to move west as a trough. TRADE-WIND TROUGHS... A couple of trade-wind troughs exist across the region. The first extends from 7N159E to EQ167E south of Pohnpei. This trough is supported by moderate upper divergence, causing locally heavy showers near Nukuoro. The next trough extends from 7N162E near Kosrae to EQ160E southeast of Kosrae and is producing spotty showers. These trade-wind troughs will likely weaken as they travel west across the region. Another trough extends from 6N149E to 12N149E southeast of the Marianas, associated with the potential circulation southwest of Chuuk. This trough is expected to track west and skirt across Guam`s coastal waters bringing some showers to Guam Saturday. TUTT... A Tropical Upper-Tropospheric Trough (TUTT) extends from 25N176E to 15N172E to 11N157E ending near the northern Marshalls. Moderate to strong upper divergence is seen north and east of Majuro associated with the TUTT and is generating numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms. This TUTT will move west out of the Marshalls and convective showers are expected to move southwest and bring showers to Kosrae around Saturday. Another TUTT extends from 22N142E through an upper- low centered near 19N137E and exits the AOR at 14N130E. This is generating some instability over an area where spotty showers are seen west of Koror. This TUTT is expected to shift west and be out of the AOR late SAturday. $$ Hong
