...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHERN JOHNSON AND EASTERN
WILLIAMSON COUNTIES THROUGH 430 PM CDT...

At 342 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Lake Of Egypt Area, or 7 miles south of Marion,
moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Marion, Goreville, Pittsburg, Creal Springs, Lake Of Egypt Area, New
Burnside, and Spillertown.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 24 in Illinois between Mile Markers 2 and 8.
 Interstate 57 in Illinois between Mile Markers 47 and 56.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
