.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 343 AM CDT Wed Jul 10 2024

The remnant circulation of Beryl continues to move northeast of the
region bringing an end to precipitation. Skies are slowly beginning
to clear out this morning across SEMO. Regional radar still shows a
few light returns across northeast portions of the area but this
activity will move out over the next few hours. Scattered gusts
between 15-20 mph will continue this morning, mainly in southern
Illinois/southwest Indiana. Winds will decrease today as the
low moves well east of the area.

Cyclonic flow will remain in place through much of the rest of
the week with another disturbance progged to swing through the
Mississippi Valley today into Thursday. Models continue to show
isolated activity across portions of the region (mainly northern
areas) and there is some instability so will continue with the
low end PoPs in the afternoon hours today and Thursday. Upper
troughing lingers north of the region this weekend, with height
rises to the west. There remains a small chance of an isolated
shower or storm this weekend but believe most areas will be dry.
Temperatures will be on the rise late this week into the
weekend. Temperatures climb into the lower 90`s Saturday, and
mid 90`s Sunday into early next week. Southerly flow will advect
moisture northward this weekend into early next week bringing
higher humidity back into the region sending heat indices into
the triple digits.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z THURSDAY/...
Issued at 1200 AM CDT Wed Jul 10 2024

MVFR ceilings will clear overnight at KPAH and KCGI. Light rain
will come to an end overnight at the other sites, but the IFR
ceilings will be slow to improve and will not clear until late
morning or midday. West northwest winds will increase to around
15kts sustained with gusts up to 25kts for a few hours overnight
at KEVV and KOWB. The gustiness will diminish a bit by daybreak,
but should continue through much of the day. Winds will become
calm in the evening and fog development is a decent bet, but not
likely before the end of this forecast.
