.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 302 AM CDT Thu Jul 18 2024

A fairly benign forecast through the weekend as we sit in the base
of a trof aloft with high pressure at the sfc. In the wake of
yesterday`s cold front we are cooler and drier for the next several
days with below normal temperatures through the weekend and into
next week. Troughing remains over the eastern CONUS with ridging
over the western CONUS. Energy then descends through the central
Plains on Saturday and into the Midwest on Sunday bringing us
some weak, slight chance PoPs on Sunday into Monday.

PoPs increase Tuesday as a warm front lifts northeast through the
area and brings back 70+ degree dewpoints. Wednesday and Thursday
will be similar to Tuesday in terms of PoPs with likelies in
the forecast for now. Temperatures will continue to remain
several degrees below normal through Thursday.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 1202 PM CDT Thu Jul 18 2024

The TAFs are VFR. Surface high pressure centered north of the
region will keep northeast winds through the entire period. A
few gusts to around 15kts will be possible this afternoon. There
should be enough wind to prevent any fog formation tonight.
