...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT WEDNESDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will remain very hot today early this week, with very
low RH values. Nighttime recoveries will be poor. Winds will be lighter
and more diurnally driven through Monday and early Tuesday,
then they will start to increase some late Tuesday and especially into
Wednesday as the ridge breaks down.  Winds remains breezy Thursday
into the end of the week, but not as strong as Wednesday. Temperatures
start to dip some Wednesday into Thursday as well. Mixing heights and
instability (lapse rates and haines) will increase through Tuesday,
before starting to decline some Wednesday. Some of the steepest lapse
rates are expected Tuesday, between 700-500 mb at near 8.5-9.0 C/km
and haines of 5, pushing to near 6.
