...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Long Island Sound West of New Haven CT/Port Jefferson NY...

At 538 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near New Haven Harbor to near Bridgeport to near
Huntington Bay, moving east at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

  Smithtown Bay, Stratford Shoal, Mouth of the Housatonic River, and
  New Haven Harbor around 545 PM EDT.
  Port Jefferson Harbor around 550 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, small hail, high waves, lightning,
and heavy rain are expected with these storms. If caught on the open
water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal
objects.
