Several storms tracked across eastern Nebraska and into southwest Iowa during the afternoon and evening of June 15. Several of these storms produced tornadoes, hail up to golfball size, damaging wind, and flash flooding. The 6 tornadoes and a damaging microburst are included in greater detail below. ..Clarkson Tornado... The tornado persisted for approximately a half mile. ..St Mary Area Microburst... Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Date/Time: 6/15/2024 6:56 PM Survey Summary: A likely microburst impacted the area near Highway 41 and 619 Avenue east of St Mary. Several trees were uprooted with large limbs broken. A garage had siding blown off, and an unattached mobile home was badly damaged as it was displaced or rolled up against a tree. All damage was pointing toward the east northeast, with a slightly divergent damage pattern, and a wider damage swath than a tornado.
