...The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley NE has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Nebraska...

  Big Blue River Near Surprise affecting Polk, Seward and Butler
  Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL TOMORROW EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Blue River near Surprise.

* WHEN...Until tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Water reaches the bottom of the bridge
  near the gage. The resulting backwater will eventually close
  Miller Street, also known as County Road D going south of town.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:45 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.4 feet...or 0.6 feet
    below flood stage.
  - Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early this morning to a crest of 8.7 feet this afternoon. It
    will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
