West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A weakening ridge stretching from
SW to NE across the waters tonight will slowly shift NE of the
region tonight through Sun night. Hurricane Ernesto will remain
well E of the area as it continues tracking NNE tonight through
Sun night. Long period SE to E swell from Ernesto will persist
across the outer waters tonight through Mon night. See the latest
National Hurricane Center advisory on Hurricane Ernesto for more
information. A cold front will gradually move offshore late Mon
and Mon night, then slowly move ESE across the waters Tue and Tue
night. The front will move E of the northern and central waters
Wed while stalling across the southern waters and remaining
stationary through Thu night. A weak trough will pass E across
the northern waters late Wed or Wed night, followed by high
pressure building E across the northern and central waters Thu
and Thu night. The NAVTEX station in Chesapeake remains
inoperable, and should be assumed to be inoperable until a return
to service has been reported.
