Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. .SYNOPSIS...A broad area of low pressure centered over the SW Yucatan Peninsula is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over northern Central America, southern Mexico, and adjacent Bay of Campeche waters. This low is forecast to emerge into the Bay overnight, and some development is possible this weekend if the system remains over water. By Monday, the low should move inland over eastern Mexico ending the chance for development. Regardless of tropical formation, locally heavy rainfall will impact southeastern Mexico and adjacent Gulf waters into early next week. There is a low chance of tropical formation over the next 48 hours. Otherwise, a surface ridge will dominate the northern Gulf waters through early next week.
