690 FNUS53 KMQT 060843 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 443 AM EDT Sat Jul 6 2024 ...Drier Today with a few Isolated Showers and Storms in the Interior West Late... .DISCUSSION: Weak high pressure moves over our area today, bringing drier and warmer conditions over us. Given the rainfall we`ve been receiving so far this summer, RHs are only expected to bottom out to the mid 40 percents late this afternoon over the interior west. Meanwhile, expect highs today to get into the 70s in the interior, with some spots getting up to 80 in the interior west. Some isolated showers and thunderstorms look for fire up in the interior west late this afternoon due to the daytime heating, but they shouldn`t but anything more than garden-variety pop-up showers and storms. The showers and storms die down this evening, and patchy fog looks to develop over the area around midnight. Expect a full RH recovery across the U.P. tonight. More showers and thunderstorms look to move into our western half come Sunday as a weak sfc low approaches from the Northern Plains. Expect wetter conditions over the west half and about the same as today over the east half Sunday.
