...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL ANOKA...NORTHERN
WASHINGTON...NORTHWESTERN ST. CROIX AND SOUTH CENTRAL POLK COUNTIES
THROUGH 145 AM CDT...

At 100 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Hugo, or 17 miles north of St. Paul, moving east
at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Blaine, Shoreview, Lino Lakes, Forest Lake, Stillwater, Hugo, Hudson,
Lake Elmo, Mahtomedi, Scandia, North Hudson, and Bayport.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 130 and 132.
 Interstate 94 in Wisconsin near mile marker 4.
 U.S. Highway 8 in Minnesota between mile markers 0 and 1.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
east central Minnesota...and northwestern and west central Wisconsin.
