The Melbourne NOAA weather radio transmitter WXJ-70, operating on a frequency of 162.550 megahertz is temporarily out of service. A technician has been notified and is investigating. This transmitter serves Brevard, Indian River, Osceola, and Orange counties. While normal broadcasts are interrupted, the National Weather Service in Melbourne suggests that NOAA Weather Radio listeners in these counties tune to their local media outlets for the latest National Weather Service watches, warnings and statements.
