Showers and storms will be possible each afternoon across east central Florida through this week. Today and tomorrow, the highest coverage is forecast to occur across the interior west of I-95 and especially near the I-4 corridor as a result of the sea breeze collision and other outflow boundary collisions. Storms will be capable of producing frequent lightning strikes, wind gusts between 40 to 50 mph, and heavy downpours. In addition to the storm threat, heat will also continue to be a concern across east central Florida, with temperatures in the low to mid 90s and peak heat indices reaching 100 to 107. There are no minimum RH or wind concerns through the period. Light and variable winds during the overnight hours and into the morning will become southeasterly each afternoon as the sea breeze develops and moves inland, with wind speeds generally remaining below 15 mph. Afternoon smoke dispersion will continue to be Fair to Generally Good across east central Florida today and Tuesday. Fog potential and other remarks...Fog is not forecast. However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
