While a Heat Advisory is NOT in effect today, peak heat indices will approach 102-107 degrees across much of east central Florida today and heading into the upcoming work-week. Afternoon high temperatures are forecast in the lower to mid-90s inland from the coast into Monday. Drier air today will limit afternoon shower and lightning storm coverage, except for areas well inland, with greatest potential north and west of I-4. An increase in showers and storms west of I-95 will occur on Sunday, then perhaps areawide early thru mid next week. There will be a daily sea breeze. Storm threats will remain locally gusty winds 35 to 45 mph, cloud-to-ground lightning strikes, and locally heavy rainfall. Winds increasing to around 10 mph behind the sea breeze. No min RH concerns. Fair to Generally Good dispersion each afternoon. Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
