At 319 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a funnel cloud over Belle Meade, or 8 miles north of Marco Island. This storm was nearly stationary. HAZARD...Funnel clouds and winds in excess of 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Funnel clouds occasionally touch down and produce tornadoes or waterspouts. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Naples, Marco Island, Golden Gate Estates, Belle Meade, Marco Island Airport, Naples Manor, Golden Gate, East Naples, Lely Resort, West Toll Gate On Alligator Alley, Royal Palm Hammock, Lely, Rookery Bay Aquatic Preserve, South Blocks Golde, Picayune Strand State Forest, Intersection I-75 And Everglades Blvd, and Fiddlers Creek.
