Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
348 AM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Appreciable summertime moisture remains in place nearly each
afternoon with Sunday being the hottest and driest day of the
upcoming week. Humidity falls to 20 percent or lower generally
along/west of the Pecos on Sunday afternoon, with every other day
staying 20-30 percent or higher. Between this and light winds,
fire concerns aren`t anticipated. While fuels generally remain
near to below the 50th percentile, scattered thunderstorms remain
possible nearly every afternoon, which could pose a risk for
lightning starts.
