Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
250 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire concerns stay very low through the middle part of next week
with a fairly wet and cool pattern taking shape through the
weekend and into early next week. Good humidity and relatively
light winds are keeping RFTIs at zero with precipitation chances
increasing each day through Monday/Tuesday. Embedded thunderstorms
within the expected precipitation could pose a risk for fire
starts and could produce gusty/erratic winds, but will also
provide much needed wetting rains to the region. The forecast
begins trending warmer/drier come Wednesday/Thursday next week.
