Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
241 AM CDT Mon Jul 8 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Less dry conditions are expected this afternoon as a cold front
pushes into the area. This front could also trigger scattered
thunderstorms across a large portion of the area. Gusty/erratic
winds are likely near any storms and lightning starts are
possible. For the remainder of the week, abundant summertime
moisture and relatively light winds keep fire concerns low.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms remain possible each
afternoon this week, primarily across the Davis Mountains and
western high terrain.
