...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Illinois, including the
  following counties, southern Fayette and Marion.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 512 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the
    advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Centralia, Salem, Vandalia, Sandoval, Wamac, Central City,
    Odin, Kinmundy, Brownstown, Mulberry Grove, Patoka, Farina,
    Omega, Fairman, Shobonier, Stephen Forbes Station, Helm,
    Tonti, La Clede and Pittsburg.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
