PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday, July 24.

* IMPACTS...At 32.5 feet, The Road at Fort Gage Farm begins flooding
  at Menard Correctional Center.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 29.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 29.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 32.3
    feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood
    stage Tuesday, July 23.
  - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 23.4 feet, Huster Road and South Shore Drive, both at
  the entrance to the South Shore subdivision in eastern St. Charles
  County, are closed near this level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 22.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 22.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.0
    feet Thursday morning.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, The Golden Eagle Ferry will likely close
  near this level.  Lakeshore Drive in northern St. Charles County
  becomes impassable near this level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 31.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 31.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 31.2
    feet this evening.
  - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
