OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
318 AM CDT Fri Aug 16 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure near 29.6 inches over northern Wisconsin into
northern Michigan will hold most of today before pressure rises
begin later tonight behind a cold front. The low pressure will
also bring scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon and early
evening to most of Lake Michigan. Heavy rain and gusty winds can
be expected with any storms.

Winds will also shift and become north to northwest tonight into
Saturday. A larger scale low pressure over the Great Lakes will
keep the weather unsettled through Saturday evening with
scattered showers and thunderstorms. Breezy northerly winds will
also continue. These winds will gradually weaken early next week
as high pressure arrives over the lake on Monday. It will also be
dry to start off the new week.
