OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
856 PM CDT Sat Aug 10 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Low pressure of 29.6 inches over Quebec will continue to trek
eastward as high pressure of 30.1 inches builds over the Plains.
Look for diminishing wind overnight as the pressure gradient
relaxes over the Upper Great Lakes. Showers/thunderstorms and
waterspouts remain possible into the overnight hours, primarily
over the northern third of Lake Michigan, as cooler air is
ushered over the warmer lake. The potential for these hazards is
expected to end Sunday as the low`s influence over the lake
decreases. High pressure of 30.2 inches then builds into the Great
Lakes region on Sunday bringing dry weather and lighter winds
persisting through the midweek.
