391 FZUS63 KMKX 161401 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 901 AM CDT Tue Jul 16 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Scattered showers remain in-progress along a weak cold front over the open waters, and are expected to persist through at least the next few hours. A brief storm is possible but at this point will likely remain largely as showers. Winds will turn northwesterly across the open waters today as the aforementioned cold front slides out. Gusts to 15 knots are possible through sunset. Additional, isolated showers and thundershowers are possible this afternoon and Wednesday, with no severe weather impacts anticipated. Winds will become light and variable through late week as high pressure of 30.1 inches builds in from the Great Plains.
