Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas... At 630 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This cluster of thunderstorms is generally located along a line extending from 7 nm northwest of Kenner to near Eden Isle, moving south at 15 knots. Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher waves, and dangerous lightning strikes.
