High pressure will continue to dominate the weather pattern for
the next couple of days. Tonight through Tuesday morning,
conditions will continue to be drier and hot. Isolated chance of
showers is possible tomorrow afternoon, which could have some
lightning and brief, gusty winds (30-40mph). But for much of the
area, tomorrow will be dry and similar to the conditions we saw
this past weekend. Highs are forecast to be in the
upper 90s with heat index values in the low to mid 100s for most
of the area. Be sure to stay hydrated! MSW

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday through Saturday night)

Tuesday through the end of the workweek, a shortwave trough
attempts to push into the area as the ridge weakens slightly.
There are still a lot of areas of uncertainty in the models on how
far south this trough will be able to push and also how much
moisture it will bring with it. Regardless, models tend to agree
that there will be enough moisture to allow our more normal
summertime pattern to resume with daily PoPs around 30-40% for the
long term forecast. These scattered showers will have the
potential for some lightning and brief, gusty winds (30-40mph)
where they occur. But the coverage will not be enough to provide
widespread relief from the heat. Temperatures will remain hot
with highs in the upper 90s, but with increasing humidities
throughout the week, the heat index values are forecast to once
again increase as the week progresses. Heat index values are
forecast to be between 108-112 degrees Tuesday through the end of
the week. So, make sure to stay hydrated this week and take
frequent breaks! MSW

Overall no real issues. All terminals currently in VFR and likely
to remain that way for much if not all of the forecast. The only
slight concern would be a rogue storm or two that develops in the
afternoon along the lake breeze and/or sea breeze. /CAB/

Benign marine conditions expected for the rest of the forecast
period with moderate (10-15kts) and predominantly southerly winds
expected. Isolated to scattered showers will be possible daily,
which could have lighting and gusty 30-40mph winds, which could be
a hazard to mariners. MSW
