466 FPUS72 KKEY 052333 NOWKEY Short Term Forecast National Weather Service Key West FL 733 PM EDT Fri Jul 5 2024 FLZ076-GMZ031>033-035-042-060045- Monroe Upper Keys- Florida Bay including Barnes Sound, Blackwater Sound, and Buttonwood Sound- Bayside and Gulf side from Craig Key to west end of Seven Mile Bridge- Gulf waters from East Cape Sable to Chokoloskee 20 to 60 NM out and beyond 5 fathoms- Gulf of Mexico from west end of Seven Mile Bridge to Halfmoon Shoal out to 5 Fathoms- Hawk Channel from Ocean Reef to Craig Key out to the reef- Including the Communities of Key Largo 733 PM EDT Fri Jul 5 2024 .NOW... Through 900 pm, isolated showers and a thunderstorm or two will continue to spread slowly south and southwestward off of the mainland into our gulf and bay side waters. The stronger activity will produce wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph, blinding downpours, and possibly a lightning strike. This activity will be found mostly in the Florida Bay and 20 to 30 nm west of Cape Sable. Some of these showers may track into portions of Key Largo. $$
