.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 942 PM EDT Mon Jul 8 2024

Currently - Surface through lower tropospheric Atlantic ridging
stretches westward across South Florida. This is resulting in
light southeasterly breezes across the Keys. Much drier lower
levels have moved in across the broader area. This evenings
sounding reported a precipitable water of 1.67 inches, which is
well below normal. In addition, there is a nose of inhibition
based around 900 mb. While CAPE is obscenely high, the lack of low
level support, dry air, and inhibition has kept shower activity
nearly nil across the forecast area. Convective activity across
South Florida and Cuba was also quite limited, although not zero.
Seasonably warm and humid conditions are in place with
temperatures in the mid 80s and dew points in the upper 70s.

Short Term Update - Robust lower tropospheric ridging will remain
across South Florida through the overnight period. As a result,
expect winds to remain light to gentle out of the east to
southeast. Dry air and some inhibition will hold on through the
lower levels. This will make it very difficult for shower
formation. As a result, will keep PoPs out of the first period for
the overnight period. The steady breezes will slow any cooling.
Expect temperatures to remain in the mid 80s with dew points
sticking in the upper 70s.
