.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 126 PM EDT Sat Jul 20 2024

Surface high pressure will keep the region dry through Sunday
night into Monday, although upper level troughing will bring
variable cloudiness. Moisture will increase on Monday, and a
shortwave moving through the area could trigger some afternoon
and evening showers or thunderstorms. The trough will deepen on
Tuesday and southwesterly flow will bring even more moisture up
from the gulf, thus increasing the chances for late day
convection.

With the trough still over the region on Wednesday, storms will
become even more widespread. The GFS shows over 2000 J/kg of
surface CAPE, but bulk shear is only around 25 kts, so severe
weather is not anticipated. A front will push through Wednesday
night, and so drier air will start to move in on Thursday,
although lingering showers and storms will still be possible.
High pressure returns on Friday and Saturday for mostly dry
conditions.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 1225 PM EDT Sat Jul 20 2024

Minimal changes needed for the 18 TAF issuance. Per GOES
satellite imagery, some mid level clouds with ceilings around
5000 feet are drifting in from the west. Should be a mix of sun
clouds this afternoon and evening before skies clear overnight.
Winds will remain light and variable. VFR ceilings and
visibilities will persist through the TAF forecast period.
