.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 344 AM EDT Fri Jul 19 2024

Quiet forecast for the weekend with high pressure at the surface and
a gradually deepening upper level trough aloft. High
temperatures will range from around 74 to 84, warmest east of I
69 on Sunday. Lows will be in the 50s and 60s.

Chances for showers and thunderstorms are possible again many days
next week as the upper level trough sharpens and shifts more
directly into the Great Lakes region-eventually deepening into an
upper level low that sits over northern Lower MI/Upper MI by Wed Eve
before lifting northeast Friday night. Pinning down exactly
where/when is difficult at this point, so kept generic/broad
consensus pops of 20-50 percent for the most part. Wednesday will be
the best chance, with 60 percent chance for the afternoon hours.
Monday afternoon/overnight will be around 20 percent chance, with
weak warm air/moisture advection associated with a surface low to
the south lifting into portions of our area (best chances south of
US 30). Highs throughout the week will range from 79 to 86 degrees,
with an increase in humidity (warmest Monday). Lows will be in the
60s.
