Rain associated with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl will develop across much of central Illinois on Tuesday...then will linger through Tuesday night before tapering off and coming to an end Wednesday morning. Based on the expected track of the system from the Ozarks into the Ohio River Valley, beneficial rainfall will occur across much of central Illinois. The heaviest rain of 1.50 to 2.50 will focus east of the I-55 corridor. While the vast majority of this rain will soak into the ground and be quickly utilized by thirsty crops, isolated pockets of primarily urban flash flooding will be possible. Many area creeks and streams will see significant rises, with a few smaller creeks potentially spilling out of their banks.
