...Remnants of Hurricane Beryl will bring significant rainfall to
parts of central Illinois on Tuesday...

Rain associated with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl will develop
across much of central Illinois on Tuesday...then will linger
through Tuesday night before tapering off and coming to an end
Wednesday morning. Based on the expected track of the system from
the Ozarks into the Ohio River Valley, beneficial rainfall will
occur across much of central Illinois. The heaviest rain of 1.50
to 2.50 will focus east of the I-55 corridor. While the vast
majority of this rain will soak into the ground and be quickly
utilized by thirsty crops, isolated pockets of primarily urban
flash flooding will be possible. Many area creeks and streams will
see significant rises, with a few smaller creeks potentially
spilling out of their banks. Stay tuned to the latest forecast for
updated information and expected rainfall amounts.
