.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 131 AM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

Remnants from tropical system Beryl will move northeast from
northern Arkansas into Illinois today. There could be a few
showers/storms across far southeast Kansas this morning but the bulk
of the activity is expected to remain east of the area. Models still
show a upper level wave dropping southward across eastern Nebraska
into northern Missouri on Wednesday. This system will spark off some
diurnally driven showers/storms with cooler mid level temperatures,
however this activity should remain northeast of the area with dry
weather expected.

Temperatures will continue to warm each day as upper level high
pressure center over the Rockies expanads the heat dome slowly
eastward from Thursday through early next week. Model ensembles are
showing fairly high probabilities for above 100 degree heat indices
to occur Sunday-Tuesday across much of the region. This could result
in heat headlines being hoisted over the region for Sunday-Tuesday.

.AVIATION /12Z TAFS THROUGH 12Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 622 AM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

Light winds and VFR will prevail for much of the area with the
exception in southeast Kansas. Residual low level moisture
within the pbl has resulted in some IFR stratus and fog
impacting KCNU and surrounding areas. Low clouds and fog are
expected to mix out by around 14Z or perhaps a bit sooner with
VFR prevailing thereafter. Light winds are anticipated through
the 24-hr period.
