.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 131 AM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

Remnants from tropical system Beryl will move northeast from
northern Arkansas into Illinois today. There could be a few
showers/storms across far southeast Kansas this morning but the bulk
of the activity is expected to remain east of the area. Models still
show a upper level wave dropping southward across eastern Nebraska
into northern Missouri on Wednesday. This system will spark off some
diurnally driven showers/storms with cooler mid level temperatures,
however this activity should remain northeast of the area with dry
weather expected.

Temperatures will continue to warm each day as upper level high
pressure center over the Rockies expands the heat dome slowly
eastward from Thursday through early next week. Model ensembles
are showing fairly high probabilities for above 100 degree heat
indices to occur Sunday-Tuesday across much of the region. This
could result in heat headlines being hoisted over the region for
Sunday-Tuesday.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 1204 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

VFR conditions expected over the next 24 hours.

Despite the development of widespread diurnal cu along and east
of the I-135, cigs are expected to remain at VFR through sunset.
Can`t rule out a stray isolated shower during the final 6 hours
of the TAF period (12Z-18Z Wednesday), but much of the region
will remain dry.

Light northerly winds across the area will gradually shift back
to southerly throughout the next 24 hours.
