783 FXUS64 KHGX 092059 AFDHGX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX Issued by National Weather Service Lake Charles LA 359 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 ...New FORECAST, MARINE... (This evening through Tuesday Night, July 16 ) Issued at 342 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 High pressure is in control for the nearterm resulting in little to no convection tonight and for much of tomorrow. A weak boundary is being pushed towards the coastline which may bring about weak showers and an isolated thunderstorm in coastal communities tomorrow afternoon. By Thursday the high pressure moves north and typical, daily onshore convection will return through the end of the week. In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, warm temperatures and modest humidity will bring about heat indices 100 to 105F tonight and Wednesday. Because of the lack of access to proper cooling, folks should take heat precautions very seriously, even in the overnight hours. Out of an abundance of caution, the Heat Advisory has been extended until Wednesday evening. 11/Calhoun - WFO LCH && .AVIATION... (18Z TAF Issuance) Issued at 1237 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 A few SCT to BKN MVFR ceilings will continue this afternoon before becoming VFR/clear skies this evening. A few showers with isolated storms will still be possible along the coastal terminals this afternoon. Winds will generally remain from the NNW at around 10 knots or less, becoming more northerly on Wednesday. Overall, VFR conditions are expected through the period. JM && .MARINE... Issued at 342 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024 Light to occasionally moderate onshore flow will develop and maintain over the next several days. With high pressure aloft and a weak boundary stalling near the coastline, expect a return to the typical diurnal pattern of daytime showers and thunderstorms. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
