Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
Issued by National Weather Service Lake Charles LA
359 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

...New FORECAST, MARINE...

(This evening through Tuesday Night, July 16 )
Issued at 342 PM CDT Tue Jul 9 2024

High pressure is in control for the nearterm resulting in little
to no convection tonight and for much of tomorrow. A weak boundary
is being pushed towards the coastline which may bring about weak
showers and an isolated thunderstorm in coastal communities
tomorrow afternoon.

By Thursday the high pressure moves north and typical, daily
onshore convection will return through the end of the week.

In the wake of Hurricane Beryl, warm temperatures and modest
humidity will bring about heat indices 100 to 105F tonight and
Wednesday. Because of the lack of access to proper cooling, folks
should take heat precautions very seriously, even in the overnight
hours. Out of an abundance of caution, the Heat Advisory has been
extended until Wednesday evening.
