Surf Zone Forecast for the Mariana Islands

.SYNOPSIS...Hazardous surf and a high risk of rip currents are
expected along south and west facing reefs of the Marianas through
late Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, a moderate risk of rip currents is
expected along north and east facing reefs for at least the next
several days. There is a moderate risk of lightning through at least
Tuesday.

.OUTLOOK...Surf is expected to taper down along east, south, and west
racing reefs starting Tuesday night. This may allow rip current risk
to drop to moderate for south and west facing reefs. Meanwhile, a
moderate risk of rip currents may remain along north and east facing
reefs until at least Thursday.

currents, especially along narrow reefs and beaches. If caught in
a rip current, swim parallel to the beach rather than against the
current.
