Dangerous heat will persist today with many locations topping 100 degrees. Even where temperatures peak in the 90s, triple-digit heat index values are likely. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Storm chances return Wednesday and Thursday as a rare summer cold front enters the region. The overall severe threat will be low, but a few storms could be accompanied by frequent lightning and strong gusty winds. An unsettled pattern will maintain daily storm chances into next week.
