...Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Linn,
northern Washington, northwestern Muscatine, Cedar, northwestern
Louisa, southwestern Jones and Johnson Counties through 315 AM CDT...

At 205 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Lake Macbride State Park to 6 miles south of
Riverside. Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Minor flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Slowing or redirecting of traffic due to ponding or flowing
         water.

Locations impacted include...
Iowa City, Tipton, West Branch, Durant, Mechanicsville, Stanwood,
Coralville, North Liberty, West Liberty, Wilton, Kalona, Solon,
Tiffin, Wellman, Lone Tree, University Heights, Riverside, Swisher,
Oxford, and Lowden.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 231 and 277.
 Interstate 380 between mile markers 1 and 11.

Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches have fallen particularly around
portions of central and northern Johnson County, and can be expected
with these storms as they move east.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
