07/15/2024 Rock Island IL NWS Storm Survey

This tornado track was in close proximity to
the towns of Taylor Ridge, Reynolds,
            Preemption, Sherrard, Swedona, and Andover.
Two large grain elevator bins were dented
in, several outbuildings were damaged, and a
few utility poles were snapped. Dozens of
trees were downed, including both snapped
            and uprooted.

0802 PM Tornado 3 WSW Kewanee 41.23N 89.99W
07/15/2024 Henry IL NWS Storm Survey

The city of Kewanee experienced significant
winds throughout a large portion of the
city, with a concentrated area of convergent
damage consistent with a high end EF1
tornado across the southern section of town.
There were well over 100 trees in the city
that suffered extensive damage, many of them
downed. Numerous trees with trunks over four
feet in diameter were snapped or uprooted,
including some falling on homes. Many
homesteads had minor roof damage and a
couple experienced large sections of their
roof removed. Also of note, this tornado
tracked in a somewhat deviant east-northeast
motion, in-line with a tight mesovortex that
            spawned it.
