409 FXUS63 KDVN 192315 AFDDVN Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Quad Cities IA IL 615 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024 .KEY MESSAGES... - Pleasant summer weather is forecast through this weekend with only slight chances for isolated showers and storms on Sunday. - Increasing humidity next Monday - Wednesday will lead to occasional chances for scattered showers and storms. - Moderate to major river flooding continues on the Mississippi River. The Rock River will crest in the Moderate category at Joslin and Moline this weekend. && .SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY/... Issued at 240 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024 Scattered to broken high-based cumulus clouds will quickly dissipate by sunset, leaving a clear night with calm winds. Lows will bottom out mainly in the upper 50s. On Saturday, weak low pressure, surface and aloft, will drift from SD to nw IA. Increasing mid/high clouds can be expected but the forecast soundings indicate very dry low levels. Therefore, not expecting any rain reaching the ground (Sprinkles perhaps?). Highs will be in the upper 70s at most locations, along with tolerable humidity levels (dewpoints in the lower 60s). && .LONG TERM /SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/... Issued at 240 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024 Split flow with a cut-off low will slowly meander across the Corn Belt. Shear will be weak and lack of Gulf moisture should keep severe weather and heavy rainfall in check. There looks to be a daily chance for scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours. Pops from Sunday through Wednesday are only in the 20-40 percent range each day. Significant rainfall is not expected. Daily highs should be in the lower 80s with lows in the lower to mid 60s, which is near normal for mid July. && .AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z SATURDAY/... Issued at 609 PM CDT Fri Jul 19 2024 VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF period, with light and variable winds. No sig wx is expected at this time. && .DVN WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
