...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 PM EDT...

Lake Huron from Port Austin to Harbor Beach 5NM Off Shore to the
US/Canadian border...
Outer Saginaw Bay SW of Alabaster to Port Austin MI to Inner Saginaw
Bay...
Port Austin to Harbor Beach MI...

At 445 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts
was located over Port Hope, moving east at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large
         hail.

SOURCE...Weather spotters reported a funnel cloud near Port Hope.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural
         damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in
         suddenly higher waves.

The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
