...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Des Moines River at Fort Dodge affecting Webster County.

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa...

  West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt affecting Humboldt County.

  West Fork Des Moines River at Emmetsburg affecting Pocahontas and
  Palo Alto Counties.

  West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville affecting Emmet County.

  East Fork Des Moines River near Algona affecting Humboldt and
  Kossuth Counties.

.Additional rainfall across the north this afternoon has prolonged
the crest along the East Fork Des Moines River at Algona, but is
expected to turn over and steadily fall through the end of the
weekend. River levels along the West Fork Des Moines River and the
main stem of the Des Moines River continue to fall, but remains
above at least minor flood stage into the work week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation over the next 24 hours.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Des Moines River at Fort Dodge, or from the municipal
  power dam to Lehigh.

* WHEN...Until early Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Water affects lowland areas near the river
  and threatens residences along the river in Fort Dodge.
  At 12.0 feet, Water affects campgrounds in the downstream parks
  between Fort Dodge and Lehigh.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 12.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to slowly fall but remain
    above minor flood stage through the middle of next week.
  - Flood stage is 10.5 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The East Fork Des Moines River near Algona, or from
  Buffalo Creek near Burt to Lotts Creek near Livermore.

* WHEN...Until Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, Water affects the lowest portions of
  Northpark Dr and Norwood Dr in Algona.
  At 17.0 feet, Water threatens US 169 south of Algona and affects
  some rural roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 17.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is cresting, and will begin to fall
    below flood stage Monday morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt, or from Joe
  Reasoner Dam to the East Fork Des Moines River.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, Flooding affects streets from S 13th Ave
  southward.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 13.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to continue to slowly fall,
    dropping into minor flood stage overnight. However, the river
    remains in minor flood well into next week.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FRIDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Emmetsburg, or from near
  Graettinger to Cylinder Creek near West Bend.

* WHEN...Until Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Water affects southern portions of the
  airport field including approaches to the primary runway. Water
  also affects grass airstrips near hangars along the east side of
  the airfield.
  At 13.0 feet, Closure of Iowa 4 is likely. Water threatens some of
  the airport runways. Water flows into Boggess gravel pits.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 13.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to slowly fall, dropping
    from moderate to minor flood stage overnight. However minor
    flooding persists well into next week.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

  forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville, or from the
  Iowa-Minnesota border to near Wallingford.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Water affects the low areas of W 1st St
  south of Iowa 9 as well as residences on Valley Dr along School
  Creek.
  At 13.0 feet, Backwater from the river causes School Creek to
  flood Valley Dr. Burr Oak Rd...and some other secondary roads in
  rural Emmet County may be closed.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 13.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to continue a slowly fall,
    but remain in moderate flood through Monday, and minor flood
    stage through next week.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
