...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL ITASCA COUNTY
THROUGH 1015 PM CDT...

At 948 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Scenic State Park, or 27 miles north of Grand Rapids, moving east at
25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Scenic State Park, Buck Lake, Gunn Lake, Bear Lake, and Balsam Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
north central Minnesota.
