A ridge of high pressure extending from Central PA to the
New England states early today will drift off to the north
and east of the District this afternoon.

Temperatures to start the day and new week will range from around
60 degrees across northwestern Pennsylvania to the low and mid
70s in the larger Metro Areas in Southeastern PA.

Expect a very warm to hot day today with humidity on the increase.
High temperatures will range from the mid 80s in the far
Northwest to the mid 90s across the valleys of Southern
Pennsylvania.

Heat indices are likely to top 100 degrees across the
southeastern Piedmont region. Isolated to scattered showers and
thunderstorms will occur this afternoon into early this evening.

It will remain very warm and muggy through midweek, with an
increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday into
Wednesday as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl move Northeast
from the area from the Ohio River Valley.
