.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1234 AM CDT Mon Jul 7 2025

An inverted trough is progged to move over the Texas coast during
the first half of the work week. PWATs will be relatively close to
normal, resulting in a low (15-30%) chance of showers and
thunderstorms across much of the region Monday. This increases to
around 35-50% chance for the eastern half of the CWA Tuesday as the
trough axis approaches the TX coast. Precipitation chances decrease
Wednesday to around 20-45% as the trough moves further inland and
PWATs decline. Precipitable Water values continue to decline through
Thursday, leading to mostly rain-free conditions through the end of
the work week. Then rain chances increase slightly once again this
upcoming weekend through the end of the period to roughly between 15-
30% chances as PVA from the western Gulf wraps around a mid-level
low parked over Mexico southwest of our region.

Temperatures will hover in the low- to mid-90s region-wide Monday
and Tuesday then increase to around the mid-90s to low 100s for the
remainder of the forecast. Heat indices will generally range from
100-105 degrees with isolated locales nearing 110 this weekend.
Expect overnight lows ranging in the mid 70s across the CWA will
push towards the low 80s this weekend.

The forecast remains on track showing a plume of Saharan dust moving
towards the TX coast that will affect the region with increased hazy
conditions from Wednesday through Friday, resulting in air quality
concerns. Please visit TCEQ for air quality conditions and follow
their recommendations.
