...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN WASHINGTON...EAST
CENTRAL PISCATAQUIS...SOUTHEASTERN AROOSTOOK AND CENTRAL PENOBSCOT
COUNTIES THROUGH 830 AM EDT...

At 745 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Millinocket, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Millinocket, Patten, Danforth, Mount Katahdin, East Millinocket,
Medway, Sherman, Island Falls, Mount Chase, Haynesville, Sherman
Station, Shin Pond, Wytopitlock, Katahdin Woods and Waters National
Monument, Reed Plantation, Baxter State Park, Mattawamkeag, Chester,
Stacyville, and Crystal.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 95 between mile markers 232 and 279.
 State Highway 11 between West Seboeis and Patten.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
