Smoke has been impacting Sheridan county and an Air Quality Alert has been issued through 1 PM Tuesday. Increasing moisture will bring a 15-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms to the mountains and along the Montana/Wyoming border through this evening. Then, overnight into early Tuesday morning, a wave moving through the flow will bring a 25% chance of showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. No severe storms are expected at this time. Highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s as easterly winds bring some cooler air to the region. Archer Wednesday through Monday... A strong ridge will build over the region early Wednesday and persist through the extended period. Short waves moving through the flow coupled with some monsoonal moisture will keep a 20-40% chance of precipitation over the mountains through Friday. Then, the chance decreases for the weekend into early next week, with only a 15-30% chance of showers or thunderstorms over the mountains. Lower elevation precipitation is generally less than 20% through Friday and less than 10% through Monday. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s to near 100, with Thursday as the likely hottest day. Currently, there is a 30-50% chance of exceeding 100 along river valleys over the plains for Thursday. Archer && .AVIATION... Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms over the mountains and along the MT/WY border through this evening. Overnight through early morning, showers and thunderstorms may form from KMLS to KBHK and northeast. Smoke will periodically reduce visibilities near KSHR and may reduce slant wise visibilities near KBIL, KLVM, and KSHR. Archer && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMP/POPS...
