A strong upper level ridge will remain over the Great Basin and continue to bring hot and unstable conditions with very low humidity to the region. Monsoonal moisture will spread over the region through Sunday. This will bring the threat of thunderstorms, mainly across southeast Oregon and far southwest Idaho near the Nevada border. Some storms will likely produce strong gusty outflow winds and abundant lightning. Little or no precipitation is expected with storms. The upper ridge is expected to intensify over the region next week with monsoon moisture potentially lingering over the area.
